On Saturday Miss McCorquodale put past sorrows behind her as she celebrated her marriage to James Hutt, her long-term boyfriend.
There to support her were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, enjoying a rare get-together with the Spencer side of their family.
Miss McCorquodale, 28, is the eldest daughter of Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the elder sister of Princess Diana and Neil McCorquodale, a farmer and former officer with the Coldstream Guards.
